Masterchef and Hannibal Lecter

Finley has just joined Beavers, it’s brilliant, he’s loving it, though why they have to call it Beavers I’ll never understand.  Anyhow, they seem to be working towards some kind of cooking badge – I’m being intentionally vague here because I can’t for the life of me find a badge that might involve sticking smarties onto a blob of ice-cream, but Finley insists that’s what they must do.  Anyhow, in an effort to get the men in this house into the kitchen, I employed shamelessly used the Beaver Badge ploy to get F to produce dinner for himself and Hamish.

Meanwhile Hamish was keen to get his “nightie trousers” working.  We had spent the afternoon covering a cereal packet and the kitchen table with blue paint.  I had no idea what we were making but Hamish seemed to have a clear idea so we bashed on.  When he asked me to fix up his “nightie trousers” I was a bit mystified….. until he went off to get his sword…. ahhhhhh “knighty trousers” – the rectangle of blue card had to be fastened to his PJ’s with sellotape (Hamish medium of choice), and I duly cut holes in the other piece of card.  This was the final result:

Back to the kitchen and Finley has produced his piece de resistence…. voila:

Gastronomic delights

All of which means that Finley now leads Daddy in the Cooper Masterchef stakes (due to the fact that there was no brown sauce involved and he did actually cook something) and Hamish has a fabulous Hannibal Lecter costume aka Knighty trousers.

I’ve also written about the antics of my family here in the tale of the big poo and here in the one in which Santa made his first appearance.
