NaBloPoMo – I nearly missed it

Last year half term was a week earlier and by the time NaBloPoMo started the kids were back at school.  Not so this time around and our hectic half term schedule has seen us travel back 5hrs in the car followed by emergency shopping and two karate lessons this avo followed by me crashing and burning over a takeaway and hot bath.  So here I am at 11pm putting in my first post…. kinda ironic when I’m planning on putting in a series of posts over NaBloPoMo about time management…. no, I’m not even joking!!! Hey ho.

Anyhow, we took these rather cute pics of the kids last night…. have to admit I copied the idea from a friend, but I think they’re rather cool anyhow ;-)

  1. Impressed that you managed to post at all Fiona, so well done! Cute photos – impressive pumpkins! Wish I could join you again this year, but know I just wont be able to deliver. 2 weeks of half term here, French student staying with us next week, two major event at our garden centre to organise in the next few weeks and our busiest time of the year (not to mention a couple of books to finish!) Will try and catch as many posts as I can and am looking forward to your time management ones (please tell me how I can squeeze any more in). x

Ahh Nikki, maybe that’s Tip 1….. “don’t try to squeeze too much in”! I was talking to someone on the PTA about this the other day…. as in “how come there are so many people who do sweet FA and then the other people keep popping up doing everything?” I think there’s a lot in the saying “if you want something done, give it to a busy person”….. some of us are do-ers and just can’t resist taking on everything…. most of us will suffer from complete overwhelm some of the time, but we soldier on and get it done anyway. I often ponder retreating to a buddhist monastery for a bit of respite from myself though!
